Donation FAQs
Who can give to the fund?
We seek funding from individuals, foundations, non-government organizations, and government sources, to be redistributed within the Pennridge community based on applications considered by Fund’s board of directors after review by a separate panel.
How can I specify where my funds are spent?
We encourage donations to our general fund in order to make sure community groups have the flexibility to meet the COVID-19 crisis. If you plan to donate more than $1,000 for a specific purpose, such as to generate matching donations, please contact us.
How can I donate online?
Our Fund uses a secure digital fundraising platform. When you donate online, you can also pay the transaction and platform fees for your gift, so 100% goes to local charitable causes.
How can I donate with a check or bank transfer?
You can print out a form on our website or request a form to send us a check.
Can I take a tax deduction for my donation?
The Fund is currently registered as a non-profit and charitable organization in Pennsylvania and it has received 501(c)(3) recognition from the IRS. The Fund will send you a receipt for your gift, but you should check with your accountant or adviser if you have tax questions about deductions.
Funding Details
Who can apply for funding?
Non-profits and faith-based organizations that offer secular services may qualify. To apply, your charity will need to provide proof of its corporate status and a brief plan that includes how you will account for the funds you receive.
All applicants must explain how their service or project addresses food, shelter, public safety, counseling, and social services issues related to the Covid-19 crisis in the Pennridge region.
How much do you award to groups as grants?
Grants will be made on a rolling basis. Tentatively, the support grants are expected to range from $500 to $5,000. Preference is given to local groups with the greatest need based on the services they provide related to their income or assets.
Project funds can only be used for expenses and services provided after a grant is awarded.
Who can not apply for funding?
The Fund is working to help Pennridge community-based organizations that directly support local residents and families most affected by the Covid-19 crisis. So the Fund is not able to provide direct grants to individuals.
When can we apply for funding?
Details on how much funding is available and when non-profits and charities might request it will be announced at a later date, once donations have begun to accumulate in the Fund.
